Understanding Drives Connection, Intention Fuels Success.

Get to know Robert

Growing up in a close-knit family in Oak Park, Illinois, Robert Spillane, son of Michael and Gretchen Spillane, shared his childhood with four siblings and enjoyed a large extended family in the Chicagoland area. From a young age, Robert’s passion for sports, particularly football, was evident. He idolized his grandfather, Johnny Lattner, the legendary Heisman Trophy winner from Notre Dame. This inspiration fueled his competitive spirit, which became apparent when he finally began playing tackle football in fifth grade. Robert’s dedication to the sport led him to Fenwick High School, his grandfather’s alma mater, where he continued his football career and earned a scholarship to Western Michigan University, an experience he valued greatly under Coach PJ Fleck. Despite going undrafted in the 2018 NFL draft, Robert persevered, joining the Pittsburgh Steelers with a renewed determination in 2019. Over five seasons, he rose to become a significant force, admired by teammates and fans alike. In the spring of 2023, Spillane signed with the Las Vegas Raiders, quickly demonstrating his leadership by being named team captain. His impactful first year saw him lead the team in tackles and earn AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors. Showing remarkable durability, he played in 97% of defensive snaps in 2023 and didn't miss a single defensive down in 2024. Now, in March of 2025, Robert has embarked on a new chapter, signing a three-year contract with the New England Patriots. Robert Spillane's career stands as a powerful testament to perseverance, the strength of family support, and an unwavering belief in his own abilities, consistently proving his value as an impactful linebacker in the NFL.
